Cycling paths
ARCO - DRO
Starting from the centre of Arco, northwards, there are two possible tracks. First, from Prabi to the village of Ceniga, following the right bank of the river Sarca. 2 kilometres beyond it is possible to see the lock on the canal Fitta. 200 metres on the north there is the XII century monastery of S. Paolo. Where the asphalt ends (3 km far from the bridge of Arco), the Roman bridge marks the entrance to the village of Ceniga. The second way develops on the new cycling path starting before the bridge on the Sarca, and follows the right bank for 200 metres, than crosses the bridge and continues on the main road to Ceniga. Beside Ceniga an other bridge permits to carry on to Dro. Now it is possible to choose: on the one hand, you can carry on over the comfortable but busy road S. P. 84 to Drena, until the sign of the cycling path on the left; on the other hand, 650 m beyond Dro (locality Le Giare), it is possible to continue on levelled ground until the subway under the S. P. 45 bis. The street carries along by-paths for about 300 metres until the street that goes to the power plant of Dro. In both the tracks the way follows the river Sarca, signing also the limit of the biotopo of the Marocche of Dro until the power plant of Fies. About 1 kilometre on the South of the power plant, a path goes until the lake of Cavedine.
NAGO - TORBOLE - ARCO
The path goes down the old street "Nago-Torbole" (if you are looking for a place where have a break, follow the signs for the park "Le Busatte", peaceful zone with restaurant, area for children and sport equipments). The descent ends in the square of Torbole, renowned tourist resort on the Garda Lake and kingdom of windsurfing and sailing. The path continues until the bridge on the river Sarca where it joins to the cycling path Torbole-Cadine and Torbole-Riva that follows the right bank of the river. The mountains surrounding the area are on the East the Mount Stivo (m 2059), on the West the mounts of Ledro and on the North the rock of Arco and in the background mounts Biaina, Brento and Casale. Where the path goes alongside the road S.S. 249, it is possible leaving the cycling path and riding on the by-paths in the middle of the fields reaching the village of S. Tommaso, along the S.S. 45 bis connecting Riva to Arco. Rising the fortress of Arco, over the wonderful bush of olive trees, you'll reach the Castle of Arco. An other agreeable walk is the visit to the arboretum of Arco, a botany garden rich in species typical of the Mediterranean area and other exotic species.
MORI - NAGO TORBOLE
This path goes through 16 km form the village of Mori, along the Lake of Loppio, and the Pass S. Giovanni, until the mouth of river Sarca nearby Torbole. The cycling path Mori-Torbole starts form the bridge of the railway station in Mori following for a stretch the left bank of river Adige. Than it follows the canal Biffis in connection with the cycling path Valle dell'Adige Sud, from which it moves away beside the depurator of Mori. Than the path goes through the places Seghe Prime and Seghe Ultime. It continues for a stretch in the main road in the centre of Mori. On the northern side of the village it is well visible the sanctuary of the Madonna di Monte Albano with the big clock on the tower bell, reachable in 10 minutes. On the rock face behind there is the famous wire equipped trail of Monte Albano.
Stretch Mori - Lago di Loppio. In the East outskirts of Mori a crossroad leads to the highland of Brentonico. Instead the cycling path follows the main street crossing Loppio. The street getting down from the northern side of the valley comes from the Val di Gresta, place renowned for the biological agriculture of vegetables, among mounts Stivo, Creina and Biaena. Loppio has a few houses where Castelbarco stands out. The path arrives in Nago, where starts the southern zone of Trentino, mainly characterized from the Lake Garda with its mediterranean vegetation. Nago, with its picturesque centre, is a good starting point for excursions on Mount Altissimo, on a easy and well signed track. Nearby the village it is possible to see the ruins of castle Penede (m 285). An other interesting walk is to visit the Marmitte dei Giganti (signed along the main road), big glacial hollows similar to big pots. From there it is possible to descend to Torbole through the old road, or rise to the mount Altissimo, along the road that leads to the park delle Busatte. Bikers can also descent to Arco through the old Roman road (it starts from the panoramic parking on the main road to Torbole) that arrives in locality Pratosaiano towards Arco.
NAGO - TORBOLE - RIVA DEL GARDA
The path starts from Torbole nearby the bridge on river Sarca towards Riva. It permit sto avoid the gallery and leads directly to the harbour S. Nicolò. The cycling path crosses S. Alessandro. It is advisable a break in Riva del Garda, important resort, located in a privileged position thanks to the good influence of the lake. The town, facing on the bank of Garda Lake, is dominated from the mount Rocchetta; it has a picturesque centre, characterized from the Tower Apponale built in XIII century to defend the harbour. Few kilometres far from Riva there is the spectacular Fall of Varone, falling down for 87 metres in a gorge. The cycling path ends in the northern outskirts of Riva, in locality Rione Degasperi; now it is possible reaching Arco following the main street.
